In celebration of Mother’s Day, Yango Ghana honored the mothers and wives of its partner drivers.
This initiative was called "A Smile for Mama." Yango provided gifts, wellness vouchers, and essential items to these women.
The gesture shows Yango’s commitment to recognizing their vital roles in families and communities.
On this special day, Yango reached out to these mothers and wives. They presented tokens of appreciation to enhance their wellbeing.
The initiative highlighted how mothers support their families. They help drivers manage daily responsibilities. Some mothers enjoyed spa treatments at LS Day Spa, courtesy of the YDMA drivers of the year for 2023 and 2024. Others received gift baskets from their sons and daughters who are partner drivers.
Tom Ofonime, Country Manager of Yango Ride in Ghana, shared his thoughts. He said a mother’s love extends beyond the home.
By honoring these women, Yango celebrates their strength and resilience. This initiative aims to give back to those who contribute significantly to the community.
The gifts included meals from Anns Catering Services and wellness vouchers for spa treatments at LS Day Spa. There were also dairy products from Cowbell Ghana Limited and discount vouchers from The Gadget Box.
Hajia Mariama Abass is the mother of Musa Inusah, a Yango partner driver. She expressed her joy at being recognized on Mother’s Day.
She said it feels special to be celebrated with gifts by Yango. She thanked them for this recognition and encouraged them to create more opportunities for their sons.
This celebration underscores Yango’s commitment to supporting women in Ghana. Previous initiatives include a women's empowerment conference and donations to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital's maternity ward. They also conducted health screenings for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and celebrated International Women’s Day.
