Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno has announced key appointments and reassignments within the Ghana Police Service, reshuffling senior officers across various directorates and regional commands.
A statement from the Police Public Affairs Directorate on March 19, 2025, confirmed that the changes take immediate effect.
Notable appointments include COP Maame Yaa Tiwa Addo-Danquah as Director-General of Research and Planning, COP Paul Manly Awini heading the Service Workshop in Accra, and COP Daniel Kwame Afriyie leading Private Security Operations.
Several other senior officers have been assigned to key administrative, operational, and regional roles.
Mr. Yohuno, appointed by President John Dramani Mahama on March 13 and sworn in the next day, succeeds Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
During his swearing-in, President Mahama tasked him with enhancing security and maintaining public trust in the police service.
