Franklin Cudjoe, president of IMANI Africa, believes Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP caused their own defeat.
He stated that if Bawumia had acknowledged the government's shortcomings, the loss wouldn't have been so humiliating.
Cudjoe said, "Finally, the scales of self-denial have fallen off! You brought this upon yourself."
He advised Bawumia to admit mistakes during the campaign. This would have made the voter backlash less severe.
Cudjoe emphasized that true leadership means addressing issues upfront. He criticized the Mike Mike Gabo Oquaye report as a waste of time.
His comments followed Bawumia's acknowledgment of reasons for the NPP's loss in 2024.
During a thank you tour in the western region, Bawumia explained that the party lost because it wasn't listening to voters.
He cited several factors: failure to reshuffle ministers, introducing e-levy, arrogance of power, and DDEP.
