Minority leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has made a strong statement. He said no intimidation will weaken the opposition's resolve. They plan to reclaim power in the 2028 elections.
After the debate on the 2025 Budget Statement, he spoke out. Afenyo-Markin accused the Mahama government of harassing political opponents using state institutions.
"You can arrest all of us, but we will remain resolute," he stated. "No amount of intimidation will break our spirit." He believes they will defeat the government and restore true governance in 2028.
He criticized the governing party for misusing the justice system. He argued that governance should focus on national development, not political persecution.
“A government that prioritizes persecution over progress is bound to fail,” he warned. “Ghanaians are watching, and they will decide in 2028.”
Afenyo-Markin urged his colleagues to stay steadfast. He called politically motivated arrests a distraction.
He reassured supporters that the Minority is committed to defending democracy. They aim to hold the government accountable for its actions.
