Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has called on President-elect John Dramani Mahama to fulfill the campaign promises he made, emphasizing that Ghanaians have high expectations following his electoral victory.
In his remarks, Bagbin congratulated Mahama and Vice-President-elect Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang for their victory and reminded them of the weight of their promises. He emphasized that the public's endorsement of Mahama's plan to "reset Ghana" carries significant responsibility.
Mahama's incoming government has outlined several key initiatives for its first 120 days, including the nomination of Cabinet Ministers, streamlining the government, establishing a code of conduct for officials, and launching a National Economic Dialogue.
Bagbin also praised Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for conceding defeat early, which he credited with helping avoid potential violence.
