“You cannot tell me that 95% of Ghanaian prophets are fake” – Owusu Bempah ‘fights’ Mensa Otabil

Founder of Glorious Word Power Ministries International, Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah, has strongly refuted claims by Dr. Mensa Otabil that 95% of prophets in Ghana are fake.

During a sermon on Sunday, March 16, 2025, Owusu-Bempah accused the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) founder of trying to undermine prophetic ministries. He argued that false teachers pose a greater threat than false prophets and vowed to address the issue in his next sermon.

“You cannot tell me that 95% of Ghanaian prophets are fake. I will prove that you are wrong. You even said no one should have visions, yet you once claimed to have seen darkness engulfing the country,” Owusu-Bempah stated.

His remarks come in response to Otabil’s criticism of church leaders who elevate themselves above Jesus Christ.

Otabil had questioned the increasing emphasis on individual pastors' “grace” and personal altars instead of focusing on Christ.

Owusu-Bempah further warned that he would not allow Otabil to discredit prophetic churches, asserting that God still reveals things to chosen individuals.

This latest exchange adds to past tensions between the two clergymen, with Owusu-Bempah previously challenging Otabil’s stance on whether God chooses national leaders.
