You don’t wear sunglasses in Parliament – Afenyo-Markin schools NDC MP

Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has reprimanded Kwesimintsim MP, Lawyer Philip Fiifi Buckman, for wearing sunglasses in Parliament and engaging in what he described as disruptive conduct.

Addressing the House, Afenyo-Markin criticized the first-time NDC MP for failing to adhere to parliamentary rules, urging him to remain quiet and avoid distractions.

"You don’t wear sunglasses in the chamber. That was not part of the orientation," he stated.

Speaker of Parliament, Bernard Ahiafor, also intervened, cautioning Buckman to maintain decorum or risk removal from the chamber.

The incident highlights growing concerns over conduct and adherence to parliamentary etiquette among newly elected MPs.
