You flew to London to interview Adam Mahama, why can’t you fly to interview Ofori-Atta? – OSP quizzed

Paul Adom-Otchere, host of Good Evening Ghana, questioned the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP). He asked why they cannot travel to America to interview former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

Adom-Otchere noted that Kissi Agyebeng previously flew abroad. Agyebeng interviewed Samuel Adam Mahama about the Airbus scandal. Adom-Otchere believes the OSP should do the same for Ofori-Atta. He criticized relying on press conferences and public statements.

The Special Prosecutor announced he has initiated an INTERPOL red notice. This could lead to Ken Ofori-Atta's international arrest and extradition. On June 2, Agyebeng stated he triggered this process shortly before speaking to the media.

Agyebeng rejected Ofori-Atta’s request for a virtual session. He insisted that Ofori-Atta must appear in person at the OSP office. Agyebeng emphasized that suspects cannot dictate how investigations are conducted.

Ken Ofori-Atta is now listed as wanted on Interpol’s official website. During his show, Adom-Otchere questioned why the OSP won't fly to interview him. He pointed out that they traveled to London for Mahama's brother but not for Ofori-Atta.

Adom-Otchere highlighted that $58 million is linked to the National Cathedral issue. He wondered why resources aren't allocated to engage with Ofori-Atta directly. “You can fly abroad for one person but not for someone linked to $58 million?” he asked.

He expressed confusion over this inconsistency in their approach.
