You hang yourself with your words! Do the noble thing and resign – Ntim Fordjour to Ablakwa

Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, the MP for Assin South, has called for Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa to resign. Ablakwa is the MP for North Tongu and serves as Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Fordjour's request follows Ablakwa's past statements about private jets. While in opposition, Ablakwa criticized former President Akufo-Addo’s use of private jets. He vowed to resign if an NDC President or Vice President ever used one.

In a radio interview, Ablakwa said, “I will resign from government if we come to power and our leader uses a private jet.” He emphasized that his actions are based on principle.

Fordjour reacted to the Vice President's recent use of a chartered Vista private jet. He stated that Ablakwa should resign based on his own words.

In an X post, Fordjour wrote, “Hon Okudzeto Ablakwa, do the noble thing and resign immediately.” He reminded Ablakwa of his vow regarding private jet usage by government officials.

Fordjour criticized Ablakwa for ridiculing the Presidency while in opposition. He noted that politics should not become populist stunts.

He added that exigencies may require leaders to travel on private jets occasionally. Fordjour urged Ablakwa to demonstrate integrity by resigning from his position.

He concluded by stating that using private jets when necessary is not a crime.
