Former Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame has responded to Thaddeus Sory. He accused Sory of having an unhealthy obsession with him. Dame described Sory's attacks as a personal campaign disguised as legal commentary.
In a strong social media statement, Dame addressed Sory directly. He suggested that Sory’s criticisms show more personal animosity than legal merit. “I live in your mind rent free,” he wrote. “Your obsession with Godfred Dame is bewildering and needs healing.”
Dame claimed that Sory has spent significant time and resources attacking him. He believes these efforts stem from malice rather than legitimate concerns about his conduct as Attorney-General.
Dame criticized the tone of Sory’s recent writings. He called them “abusive and offensive.” He stated that such language is unworthy of someone at Sory’s rank in the Bar.
“The language you employ violates professional conduct rules,” he said. Dame left it to regulatory bodies to evaluate any breaches.
Although he had ignored previous criticisms, Dame felt compelled to respond this time. He wanted to clarify “a few things you have got fundamentally wrong.” He dismissed most of Sory’s claims as “vile propaganda.”
Dame specifically addressed one claim by Sory. The lawyer alleged that Dame boasted about never losing a case during his tenure. Dame challenged this assertion, calling it a distortion of the truth.
