UK-based Ghanaian economist Michael Danquah has urged President-elect John Mahama to carry out accountability exercises carefully, avoiding the targeting of innocent individuals.
He warned that if Mahama succumbs to pressure from party members to go after officials with personal grievances, it could lead to the same mistakes made under President Akufo-Addo's administration.
Danquah emphasized the importance of fair accountability to prevent embarrassment in court.
Regarding the NPP’s defeat, Danquah stated that Vice President Dr. Bawumia inherited the failings of Akufo-Addo, and his inability to distance himself from those issues contributed to the NPP's loss.
Danquah expressed hope that Mahama’s new administration would not disappoint Ghanaians.
