You should've spoken up when the rot was happening - Dr Amoah on Adwoa Safo’s outburst

Businessman Dr. Kofi Amoah has urged Ghanaians in public office to show courage. He believes they should resign if they disagree with mismanagement and corruption.

Dr. Amoah's comments follow revelations from former MP Sarah Adwoa Safo. She has recently shared serious allegations about her time in office. These include claims of corruption in the National School Feeding Program.

Adwoa Safo lost the NPP primaries for the 2024 elections. She also criticized a committee led by Prof. Aaron Mike Oquaye, suggesting it aims to replace ex-Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Her statements have sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some praising her and others criticizing her.

Dr. Amoah acknowledged Adwoa Safo’s revelations but felt they came too late. He expressed this on his X (formerly Twitter) account, saying he wished she had spoken out earlier.

He emphasized that public officials should prioritize the country over their appointers. They must not remain silent while witnessing wrongdoing.

Dr. Amoah stated that leaders lacking courage hinder Ghana's progress on major issues. He called for a culture of honor and dignity among citizens for national improvement.

Meanwhile, the NPP has referred Adwoa Safo to its National Disciplinary Committee due to her comments about the party's performance in 2024 elections.

The party accused her of violating its constitution by discussing internal matters publicly. In response, Adwoa Safo rejected this referral, claiming it infringed on her free speech rights.
