Kofi Adams, Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency, has been nominated as the new Minister of Sports and Recreation.
Speaking prior to his nomination, the 49-year-old zoologist emphasized that sincerity and a pure heart are essential for success in the role.
He also advocated for a return to grassroots sports and their effective implementation. Adams is set to face the Vetting Committee in Parliament for approval.
If confirmed, he will succeed Mustafa Ussif, who served as Sports Minister since 2021 under President Nana Akufo-Addo’s New Patriotic Party government.
Adams’ nomination reflects hopes for a revitalized focus on grassroots development and a fresh approach to sports administration in Ghana.
