Your obsession with me is bewildering and needs healing – Dame fires back at Thaddeus Sory

Godfred Yeboah Dame, the former Attorney General, has responded to Thaddeus Sory. Sory, a private legal practitioner, called him an "incongruous crybaby." He advised Dame to stop being silly and throwing tantrums.

Dame claims Sory has been publicly attacking him about his work. He finds Sory's obsession with him bewildering and believes it needs healing.

In his response, Dame rejected Sory’s allegations. He described them as vile propaganda from NDC-affiliated lawyers. Dame denied boasting about never losing a case as Attorney General.

He stated that he openly acknowledged significant losses during his tenure. “The record will show,” he said, “that I touted some losses as symbols of judicial independence.”

Dame recalled a case between 2007 and 2009 where he defeated Sory in court. He reminded Sory of this loss when they were on opposing sides.

Dame also addressed accusations of partisanship in representing Chief Justice Torkornoo. He emphasized that representing clients is part of their duties as lawyers.

He noted that Sory has represented both NDC and NPP figures in the past. “If you do not find it ‘incongruous’,” he remarked, “I cannot fault you.”

Dame expressed his intention to ignore further provocative comments from Sory. However, he anticipated more abuse due to Sory's obsession with him.

In closing, Dame wrote directly to Sory about his public comments on him. He criticized the offensive language used by Sory and its violation of professional conduct rules.

Dame concluded by stating that he would continue to ignore falsehoods but felt compelled to correct some inaccuracies this time around.
