Zongo communities must prioritise education -Alhaji Ali Barry

Members of the Zongo community gathered for a durbar.

Sarki Alhaji Abdullai Ali Barry, Asanteman Zongo Nkosuohene, spoke at the event. He advised the leadership and youth to prioritize education. This focus on education is essential for sustainable development.

The 16th Annual Gargajiya Festival took place at Jubilee Park in Kumasi. The Zongo Youth Association organized the celebration with support from Sarki Ali Barry.

Various traditional dances were performed by Muslim communities. These included Chocosi, Grunshie, Sisala, Mamprusi, Frafra, and Yoruba dances.

Sarki Ali Barry noted that education is now valued in Zongo communities. Unlike before, there are now many professionals like doctors and engineers. He urged parents to make education a priority for their children.

Otumfuo Nsumankwahene Baffour Asabere Kogyawuasu III represented the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. He echoed the importance of educational transformation in Zongo communities.

He also criticized the reckless operation of rickshaws (Pragia) in Kumasi. He called for adherence to road and traffic regulations to ensure safety on our streets.
