"Daddy, what have you done?"- Ntim Fordjour recounts his child's reaction to NIB raid on his home

Rev John Ntim Fordjour, the Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, shared a troubling experience at home. This followed a failed operation by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).

NIB operatives raided his home to execute an arrest warrant. The warrant was linked to claims about two aircraft involved in cocaine trafficking and money laundering.

On JoyPrime's Prime Morning Show on May 28, Rev Fordjour recounted a moment with his young daughter. She asked him, “Daddy, what have you done?”

He described the early-morning raid as something he had anticipated. He advocates for transparency and accountability in governance.

“I wasn’t the least perturbed,” Rev Fordjour said. He explained that speaking the truth comes with consequences.

His daughter’s question prompted him to reassure her. He told her, “Nothing. But when you want to say the truth, be ready for these things.”

Rev Fordjour noted that his wife was shaken by public reactions. She questioned why people were calling him names.

Despite this, she understands his role and supports his commitment to truth. “The truth is what is most important,” he emphasized.

He remains firm in his belief that integrity must come before comfort. As a reverend minister and public servant, he feels a duty to expose wrongdoing.

“Whatever someone feels you are doing that exposes their ills, I can’t sit down and watch,” he stated.
