"Elements within NPP worked against me for supporting 'Ken must go'" - Cynthia Morrison

Cynthia Morrison, former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, faced opposition within the New Patriotic Party (NPP). This was due to her involvement in the "Ken must go" movement.

In an interview with Sweetie Aborchie on JoyNews, she shared her experiences. Her political career suffered setbacks because of her stance against Ken Ofori-Atta.

"Elements within the NPP worked against me because I was part of 'Ken must go'," she said. This campaign aimed to remove Ofori-Atta from his ministerial position.

Morrison noted that she was the only female voice in this movement. "I was the only lady in 'Ken must go'," she stated. She supported Ofori-Atta's removal without regret.

Additionally, Morrison expressed her support for Kennedy Agyapong during NPP's internal contests. She described him as a key figure in the party's Central Region stronghold.

"I supported Ken Agyapong," she said. "Kennedy Agyapong was our pillar in the Central Region."

When asked about her political loyalties and current party leadership, Morrison shared her thoughts on the 2024 elections. She believes NPP needs a stronger candidate to win.

"I am not a hypocrite," she explained. "Even though Bawumia is my friend, I supported Ken because we needed a winning candidate."
