"He was my music hero" - KK Fosu eulogises close friend Dada KD

Ghanaian Highlife star KK Fosu has praised his fellow musician Dada KD. He believes Dada KD's impact on the music industry will endure.

Many Ghanaians are mourning Dada KD’s death. He passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025. The news has sparked widespread grief among fans and celebrities.

The cause of death is still unknown. Many celebrities have shared their condolences online. They are supporting Dada KD's family and his Highlife fans.

KK Fosu, a close friend of Dada KD, expressed his shock at the news. He is still trying to process what happened in recent days.

“It has been almost a year since my accident on the Apam road,” he said. “Hearing about Dada KD’s death makes me very sad.”

Fosu mentioned that they often talked and he was unaware of any illness. “He was preparing for a show in London next month,” he added.

“I am really saddened by his death because he was my hero,” KK Fosu told GNA Entertainment.

He hopes music lovers will give Dada KD a proper farewell when funeral details are announced.

Dada KD had a remarkable music career with nine albums to his name. Some of these include “Somugye”, “Ebeboawo”, and “Odo Mu Anigyebi”.

He performed worldwide and won many awards, including Best Male Vocalist at the 2004 Ghana Music Awards (UK).
