"More Ghanaians to study in Morocco": Okudzeto Ablakwa announces

Ghana and Morocco Reach Agreements Beyond Visa-Free Travel

Ghanaians can now travel to Morocco without a traditional visa. This follows an agreement between the two countries.

Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa announced additional agreements. These include important developments in education and aviation.

In a post on X, he shared details from his visit to Morocco. The agreements include increased scholarships for Ghanaian students and food security cooperation.

Here are the six key agreements mentioned by the Minister:

1. Scholarships for Ghanaian students doubled from 70 to 140 each year.
2. Food security cooperation includes a donation of 2,000 tonnes of fertilisers to Ghanaian farmers.
3. Training for Ghanaian youth at Morocco’s pilot training academy.
4. Educational exchanges allowing Moroccan youth to study in Ghana’s Maritime University.
5. A business forum in October 2025 for collaboration between Ghanaian and Moroccan companies.
6. Priority projects identified in port expansion, railway development, textile production, and pharmaceuticals.

Reactions to Ablakwa's post varied on social media. Some users praised his efforts while others raised concerns about the agreements.

One user questioned why Morocco offers scholarships when better options exist elsewhere. Another expressed skepticism about food security assistance from Morocco.

Overall, many Ghanaians appreciate the Minister's work but seek clarity on what Ghana will provide in return for these agreements.
