"Pray for me": GH policeman deployed to Bawku to help restore peace cries out

Police Officer in Bawku Appeals for Prayers Amid Conflict

A police officer stationed in Bawku has shared a heartfelt video. The officer, Nana Yaw, appeared visibly sad and asked Ghanaians to pray for him. His video quickly went viral on social media.

In the video, he showed the police detachment and equipment in Bawku. He captioned it, "Pray for me, pray for Bawku, pray for Ghana." This post came after two officers were killed in Binduri on April 13.

The officers were ambushed while traveling on a motorbike from Bongo to Binduri. The attackers escaped with their vehicle after shooting them. The Ghana Police Service expressed condolences to the families of the deceased officers.

They assured the public that they are working to catch the attackers. A statement said, “We will ensure justice is served.”

Another anonymous officer spoke about poor working conditions in Bawku. He mentioned that food shortages have become a significant issue for them. He urged authorities to send food supplies to support deployed officers.

As of now, Nana Yaw's video has received over 2,000 likes and 100 comments. Many social media users expressed sorrow over the situation in Bawku.

Comments included messages of support and prayers for protection. One user wrote, "May you be guided by the Most High." Another stated that police should protect themselves if needed.

In related news, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II announced peace talks regarding the Bawku conflict. These discussions will start in April and conclude in May. He urged all parties involved to cooperate for lasting peace.
