"That isn't a statement to issue": James Bomfeh reacts to Sammy Gyamfi's pardon

James Bomfeh Criticizes Sammy Gyamfi's Pardon

James Kwabena Bomfeh, known as Kabilla, has spoken out. He reacted to the President's decision to pardon Sammy Gyamfi. He disagrees with those suggesting Gyamfi did nothing wrong.

Bomfeh is the Managing Editor of the National Forum Newspaper. He raised concerns about a press briefing by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of Government Communications. This briefing announced Gyamfi’s pardon.

On Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Kabilla expressed his dissatisfaction. He believes the issue should have been fully addressed before announcing the pardon.

He stated that if there is a breach of national values, it should be condemned first. "You raise the issue and condemn it," he said. Then, he suggested acknowledging remorse before considering a pardon.

Bomfeh noted that public confidence in politics is declining due to such actions. He criticized politics lacking principles and standards.

He also expressed surprise at people downplaying Gyamfi's actions. During the press briefing, Ofosu mentioned that Gyamfi had been cautioned to behave well moving forward.

The government will not take further action regarding his controversial cash gift to Nana Agradaa. Gyamfi apologized for the incident and met with the Chief of Staff afterward.
