Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams is urging other federations to improve. He wants them to follow the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) example.
Adams made this call during a meeting with sports stakeholders earlier this week.
There has been much discussion about government investment in football and the GFA. Other federations struggle to attract similar support.
Currently, 46 sporting federations are registered under the National Sports Authority. Their relevance is debated, with many questioning their status as recognized federations.
“The story of the GFA should guide us,” Adams said.
He emphasized that football gained attention through specific efforts, not by chance.
“It didn’t just wake up one morning with recognition,” he added.
We need to learn from the GFA's success to improve our federations.
Adams shared a saying from his village: when you are an orphan, listen closely to advice given to others. This way, you can learn and grow.
