'I'm now ready to play for Ghana' - Eddie Nketiah

Crystal Palace forward Eddie Nketiah has shown interest in playing for Ghana. This comes after being overlooked by the English national team.

Nketiah was born in Lewisham, Greater London. He has Ghanaian parents and is still eligible to represent Ghana. Although he played for England at all levels, he is considering a switch.

In 2023, Nketiah received his first senior call-up from England. He was invited for matches against Scotland and Ukraine but did not play. Since then, he has not been called up again.

The Ghana Football Association has tried to recruit him multiple times. However, Nketiah turned down their offers on several occasions.

In a recent interview on The Beautiful Game podcast, he expressed his feelings about representing Ghana. He stated that he now feels more connected to Ghana. “If Ghana calls me up, I’ll be there,” he said.

Nketiah has struggled for playing time at Selhurst Park recently. He has only one goal and one assist in 25 matches this season.
