'We have our future in our hands' - Semenyo on Black Stars World Cup qualification

Antoine Semenyo believes the Black Stars control their future. They aim to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana leads Group I after a 5-0 win against Chad. This match took place at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 21.

Semenyo scored in that game. He dreams of returning to the World Cup stage. He previously represented Ghana in Qatar during the 2022 edition.

"Everyone wants to play at the World Cup," he said. "Not many players can say they've done it."

He emphasized the importance of winning their next two games. "We have a great opportunity to qualify now," he added.

Semenyo noted that playing on such a big stage is exciting. However, not everyone enjoys watching World Cup matches.

"We have this opportunity in our hands," he stated. "We just need to take it."

After scoring against Chad, Semenyo hopes to score again. The Black Stars will face Madagascar on March 24. They aim to extend their lead in Group I of the qualifiers.
