'We weren’t good enough' – Legon Cities react to relegation

Legon Cities Communications Director, Kwame Dwomoh, has acknowledged the club's relegation. He stated that poor performances led to their drop from the Ghana Premier League.

The Royals' relegation was confirmed after a 4-1 loss to Nations FC. This defeat leaves them in 17th place with three matches remaining.

In an interview with 3Sports, Dwomoh said management tried hard behind the scenes. However, the team failed to perform when it mattered most.

“Unfortunately, we’ve not been good enough on the pitch,” he said. “That’s why we’ve been relegated. We did our best as management.”

He explained that they initially pursued big stars for the team. Later, they decided to focus on a mix of youth and experience. The change came after realizing that star players were not delivering results.

As the 2024/25 season comes to a close, only one relegation spot is left unconfirmed. Legon Cities and Nsoatreman have already been relegated.
