'We will be ready for the 2025 WAFCON' - Black Queens coach Lars Björkegren

Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren is confident about the 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations. The tournament will take place in Morocco.

He has invited 32 players for the first phase of training. Most notable names from the team have been retained.

The Queens are participating in intensive training sessions and tryout games. They recently played against their feeder team, the Black Princesses.

After completing the first phase of camping, they will resume in a few weeks. Coach Björkegren now has a clearer picture of his team.

He plans to identify players for the main competition soon. In an interview, he mentioned they are working on improving the team's performance.

"We need to get closer to the final pieces," he said. "That's necessary to win games." He is confident they will be ready for Morocco this summer.

The 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations will run from July 5 to July 26, 2025.
