Ghana Premier League clubs have agreed to implement stricter matchday security protocols following an emergency meeting with the GFA. The clubs also committed to enforcing club licensing regulations.
A joint statement confirmed that these protocols would be reviewed at an Executive Council meeting on February 7, 2025, with comprehensive guidelines to be published afterward.
The meeting was expected to include a joint position paper from Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, but the two clubs did not present it.
Meanwhile, the GFA will meet with Supporters' Groups later today to discuss further measures.
These developments follow recent violent incidents in the league, prompting urgent reforms to enhance safety and discipline in Ghanaian football.
