2024/25 GPL: Nations complete double over Kotoko, Karela hold Hearts, GoldStars leave it late: Gameweek 28 wrap-up

Nations FC won 2-0 against Asante Kotoko at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Complex. Nafiu Sulemana scored in the 15th minute with a powerful shot from outside the box. Emmanuel Annor added another goal just before halftime.

This victory puts Nations FC in 2nd place, while Kotoko drops to 4th.

Hearts of Oak struggled again, drawing 0-0 with Karela United. Despite having more possession, they could not threaten Karela's goal. Hearts are now in 7th place, and Karela is 15th, just above the relegation zone.

Bibiani GoldStars secured a late 1-0 win over Medeama. Samuel Attah Kumi scored from a penalty after Vincent Atingah missed one earlier. GoldStars remain at the top of the league with 53 points. Medeama falls to 8th after two consecutive losses.

Basake Holy Stars won narrowly against Legon Cities, boosting their survival hopes. Issah Yakubu scored the only goal of the match. Holy Stars are now in 13th place with 33 points, while Legon Cities sit in 17th with just 25 points.

Dreams FC ended their losing streak with a 1-1 draw against Vision FC. Jonathan Nemordeen scored first for Dreams in the 51st minute. Emmanuel Akansase equalized six minutes later. Dreams are now in 11th place with 37 points; Vision is in 14th with 30 points.

Berekum Chelsea edged Bechem United with a thrilling score of 2-1. Vincent Adjei put Chelsea ahead early on, but Darlvin Yeboah equalized later on for Bechem. Jonah Attuquaye scored again for Chelsea before halftime.

Bechem remains in 8th place with 43 points; Chelsea climbs to 9th with 38 points.

Young Apostles and Samartex played to an exciting draw of 1-1. Emmanuel Fosu Kyei opened scoring for Young Apostles in the second half, but Samartex quickly responded through Emmanuel Mamah shortly after.

Samartex moves up to 6th place; Young Apostles stay at12th.

Heart of Lions achieved a strong victory over Accra Lions, winning by a score of 3-1 at home. Yaw Danso scored first within seven minutes, followed by two goals from Nana Oppong in the second half. David Akintunde netted a late consolation goal for Accra Lions.

Heart of Lions is now third with47 points, just four behind leaders GoldStars. Accra Lions drop into the relegation zone and are level on points with Karela United.
