2024/25 Ghana Premier League: Week 33 Match Preview – Asante Kotoko vs Medeama SC

Asante Kotoko will host Medeama SC on Sunday. The match takes place at Baba Yara Sports Stadium. It is a crucial Week 33 game in the Ghana Premier League. Both teams want to finish the season strongly.

Kotoko is currently third with 55 points. They are five points behind league leaders Nations FC. Their title hopes suffered after a goalless draw against Gold Stars last weekend. However, they still aim for a top-three finish.

The Porcupine Warriors have been strong at home. They are unbeaten in their last five home games, with four wins and one draw. During this stretch, they conceded only twice. This season, they have won 12 of their 16 home matches.

Kotoko coach Abdul Karim Zito expects a tough match. “They will come all out,” he said about Medeama SC. He recognizes their quality despite their current struggles.

Medeama SC is sixth in the standings with 50 points. They hope to break into the top five soon. They are the league's highest-scoring team with 41 goals but struggle away from home. They have lost eight consecutive away matches.

Medeama coach Ibrahim Tanko feels prepared for Kotoko. “It will be one of the toughest matches,” he stated confidently. He believes his team can earn their first away point or even win all three.

In their last four league meetings in Kumasi, both teams have two wins each.
