Zambia and Orlando Pride forward Barbara Banda is a top contender for the 2024 CAF Women’s Player of the Year award, alongside Morocco’s Sanaa Mssoudy and Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie.
Banda made history at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, becoming the first player to score three hat-tricks in the tournament.
The year marked a breakthrough for her as she joined Orlando Pride from Shanghai Shengli, becoming the second most expensive player in women’s football history.
In her debut season, she scored 17 goals in 25 matches, including the decisive goal in the NWSL final, and was named the league’s Most Valuable Player. Mssoudy is also a finalist after leading her team to the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League final.
