Coco Gauff won her first French Open singles title. She beat world number one Aryna Sabalenka in a thrilling final. The match was played under challenging conditions.
Gauff, the second seed, won with scores of 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 6-4. This victory marks her second Grand Slam win. She previously won the US Open in 2023 against Sabalenka.
Gauff started slowly and fell behind by a double break. However, she found her rhythm as Sabalenka made many mistakes. A strong breeze affected their serves, leading to 12 breaks during the match.
In the deciding third set, Gauff settled quickly and took a break lead. She maintained her composure to serve out the match successfully. After surviving another break point, she secured victory on her second match point.
