Coco Gauff faced Madison Keys in the French Open quarter-finals. The second seed won 6-7 (6/8), 6-4, 6-1. The match featured 14 double-faults and 101 unforced errors.
Gauff will play the winner of Mirra Andreeva vs. Lois Boisson next. This match is for a spot in her second French Open final on Thursday.
“It means a lot to win this tough match,” Gauff said. “I’m excited to be in the semi-finals again. I have more work to do.”
Keys won the first set in a tie-break after leading 4-1. However, Gauff raised her game and fought back.
Last year, Gauff was the runner-up to Iga Swiatek in the finals. Keys aimed for her second consecutive Grand Slam title but fell short again.
Gauff hopes to improve on last year's performance when she lost in the semi-finals.
