2025 French Open Semis: Carlos Alcaraz into Final as Lorenzo Musetti retires injured

Carlos Alcaraz of Spain reached his second consecutive French Open final. He advanced after Lorenzo Musetti of Italy retired due to injury in the fourth set.

Alcaraz was leading 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-0, and 2-0 when Musetti had to stop playing. Musetti aimed for his first major final but faced a thigh issue.

"It's never fair," said Alcaraz. "I want to win but not like this." Musetti explained that he lost strength in his left leg during the match.

The two players have been top clay-court competitors this year. They showcased their skills in two competitive sets before Alcaraz took control.

Alcaraz, a four-time Grand Slam champion, won Roland Garros last year. He will face either Novak Djokovic or Jannik Sinner in the final on Sunday.

Djokovic, the sixth seed from Serbia, is seeking a record 25th title. He will play against world number one Sinner later today at 18:00 BST.

Alcaraz expressed excitement about watching their match. "I'm not going to miss it," he said. "It’s one of the best match-ups in tennis right now."

He added that he looks forward to enjoying great tennis and learning tactics from the game.
