2025 Sheikh Sharubutu Ramadan Cup officially launched: 15 Zongo communities to battle it out in historic 10th edition

The 2025 Sheikh Sharubutu Ramadan Cup has been launched. The event took place at Iqra Radio Ghana. This year, 15 Zongo communities will compete.

This edition celebrates the tournament's 10th anniversary. It will include past winners and strong teams from previous years. The competition is a major event in Zongo communities across Ghana.

Three-time champions Ashaiman have a standby position. They won the trophy in 2015, 2016, and 2024. This recognizes them as the most successful team in the tournament's history. The other 14 communities will compete for quarterfinal spots.

Exciting matchups are set for the preliminary round. Nima will face Sabon Zongo, while Kasoa takes on Ashale Botwe. Shukura will battle Adabraka, and Maamobi meets Tema. Other matches include Madina vs Tuba, Nsawam vs Anyaa Zongo, and Tunga vs Fadama.

The competition aims to unite Zongo communities and honor the Chief Imam. It will be held on April 12th and 13th at Kawukudi AstroTurf.
