2025 Unity Cup: No Partey, Kudus as Otto Addo names 23-man Black Stars squad

Deputy captain Thomas Partey and Mohammed Kudus are not in Ghana’s Black Stars squad. They will miss the 2025 Unity Cup in London, England.

Arsenal midfielder Partey recently played for Ghana. He scored against Madagascar in the World Cup qualifiers. However, he will miss this four-nation tournament. It starts just three days after the English Premier League ends.

Kudus also misses out despite scoring for West Ham on the final day of the season. Other absentees include Antoine Semenyo, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and Inaki Williams.

The squad features five debutants, including Barcelona's Abdul Aziz Issah. Notable returnees include Abdul Salis Samed, who is back from injury. Kwame Opoku receives his first call-up since 2021, and Felix Afena-Gyan returns for the first time since 2022.

Captain Jordan Ayew and players Gideon Mensah, Mohammed Salisu, and Benjamin Asare keep their spots from the last call-up.

The team is preparing in London for the Unity Cup. They will compete against Trinidad and Tobago, Nigeria, and Jamaica.

The Black Stars face Nigeria's Super Eagles on May 28. The winner advances to the final while the loser plays for third place.
