Ghana’s Black Stars are set for a decisive clash against Madagascar tonight in their bid for a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Following a dominant 5-0 victory over Chad, the team traveled to Morocco, where the match will be played, aiming to maintain their momentum in the qualifiers.
Head coach Otto Addo and his squad concluded their final training session on Sunday at the Al Hoceima Grand Stadium, focusing on tactical adjustments ahead of the encounter.
A win would further cement Ghana’s lead in Group I, bringing them closer to securing their fifth World Cup appearance.
Otto Addo, speaking ahead of the match, urged his players to give their all, emphasizing the difficulty of the challenge.
“We don’t need 98 or 99 per cent; we need 100 per cent. This is like a small final, and if we win, our qualification chances will be much stronger,” he stated. He also acknowledged Madagascar’s recent strong performances, warning that it will be a tough contest.
Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 GMT, with Ghana currently leading Group I with 12 points. A victory tonight would keep them in pole position as they push toward next year’s tournament in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
