$742k was invested on the Upper East FIFA standard pitch – Kurt Okraku

GFA President Kurt Okraku announced a $742,000 investment. This funding is for Ghana's first FIFA-standard pitch in the Upper East Region.

The announcement took place on Tuesday, April 15, at the GFA headquarters. During this event, Nissan 4×4 pickups were given to Regional Football Associations.

This new facility is part of the FIFA Forward initiative. It reflects Okraku’s commitment to developing regional football.

Okraku emphasized FIFA's support for the GFA's goals. He stated that they aim to improve the fundamentals of Ghanaian football.

He mentioned that the Paris office has been very helpful. They support the GFA in fixing football's foundation.

Now, people in Upper East have access to a FIFA-certified pitch. This pitch also hosts Ghana's first GFE elite football academy.

Okraku addressed questions about the project's cost. He confirmed that it was funded by FIFA and cost $742,000.

For years, Upper East lacked a single FIFA-standard pitch. The GFA secured approval through the FIFA Forward program for this facility.

This marks an important step toward better infrastructure across Ghana.
