“Otto Addo went through some difficult moments during AFCON qualifiers” – C.K Akonnor

Former Black Stars coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor is pleased with Otto Addo's recent attitude. This comes despite criticism from Ghanaians over the team's failure to qualify for AFCON in Morocco. It is the first time in 20 years that Ghana will not be among the 24 teams at the tournament.

Akonnor understands coaching under pressure. He defends Addo, noting that he seems relieved and confident. The Black Stars have had a strong start in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

"Otto Addo went through some difficult moments," Akonnor said. "But you can see he is now very calm. His body language has changed."
