AC Milan Coach Explains Choosing Musah Over Chukwueze

AC Milan manager Paulo Fonseca has explained his preference for starting Yunus Musah over Samuel Chukwueze, citing Musah's stronger defensive capabilities. Chukwueze, who joined Milan recently, has struggled to secure a regular starting role and is often used as a substitute.

Fonseca acknowledged Chukwueze's attacking qualities, which were evident during his brace in Milan’s 6-1 Coppa Italia win against Sassuolo. However, the manager noted that Musah's defensive strengths are better suited for certain matches.

Chukwueze has made 50 appearances for Milan, with most coming off the bench. He has started just a few games, including two of the last five Serie A matches, scoring three goals across all competitions.

Despite limited opportunities, his contributions in cup games and off the bench underline his importance to the squad.
