AC Milan sack coach Conceicao after six months in charge

AC Milan has fired coach Sergio Conceicao after six months.

Conceicao, 50, took over last December. He replaced Paulo Fonseca and signed an 18-month deal.

He previously won 11 trophies in six years at Porto. He also won the Italian Super Cup with Milan shortly after his appointment.

However, Milan lost the Coppa Italia final to Bologna. Their league performance was disappointing as well.

Under Conceicao, Milan finished eighth in Serie A. This means they will not play in Europe next season. Meanwhile, rivals Inter will face Paris St-Germain in the Champions League final this weekend.

Milan released a statement thanking Conceicao and his staff. They appreciated his commitment and professionalism during his time with the team.

The club acknowledged his role in winning their 50th trophy. They wished him success in his future endeavors.
