Michael Amer, son of Ghanaian billionaire Ibrahim Mahama, has made the U-20 squad. He will compete in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
Amer is an attacking midfielder for Nice Ibrahim Sporting Club in Tema. His skills and creativity impressed the technical team during training.
The final phase of training took place at Accra Sports Stadium. Amer participated in a friendly match against Inter Allies.
He joins teammates eager to showcase their talent on a big stage. While his father is a successful businessman, Michael aims to make his mark in football.
Ghana's team targets a fourth U-20 AFCON title and World Cup qualification. They are drawn into Group C with Senegal, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Central African Republic.
The tournament starts on April 27 and ends on May 18, 2025. All four semifinalists will qualify for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
