Former Ghana goalkeeper Abukari Damba believes Abdul Manaf Nurudeen needs more games to become the Black Stars' first-choice goalkeeper. Damba praised Manaf Nurudeen’s performances in Ghana's 1-1 draw against Angola and 2-1 loss to Niger during the AFCON qualifiers.
However, he emphasized the importance of consistency for a goalkeeper, noting that it can only be achieved by playing more matches.
Damba explained that goalkeeping is a specialized position requiring experience in various situations, including dealing with pressure and recovering from mistakes.
Manaf, who has made four appearances for Ghana and six matches for KAS Eupen this season, has yet to secure a clean sheet. Damba stressed that more consistent performances across multiple games are essential for his development.
