Abedi Pele and Asamoah Gyan appointed CAF ambassadors for 2025 African Schools Championship

Ghanaian football legends Abedi Ayew Pele and Asamoah Gyan have been appointed as ambassadors for the 2025 African Schools Championship.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) made this announcement. The two will promote the tournament and inspire young players. Their roles aim to foster youth football growth in Africa.

The Ghana Football Association stated that their involvement adds immense value. Their presence will motivate participating children and their teams.

The 2025 CAF African Schools Championship will be held in Ghana. It takes place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in April.

Abedi Pele is a three-time African Footballer of the Year. He was also the former captain of Ghana's national team, the Black Stars. Known for his skill and leadership, he won AFCON in 1982 and led the team to the finals in 1992.

Pele had a successful club career in Europe, playing for Marseille and Lille.

Asamoah Gyan is Ghana's all-time leading scorer. He has scored 51 goals in 109 appearances for the Black Stars. Gyan is known as a clinical finisher with a remarkable record.

His career includes stints in the English Premier League, Serie A, and UAE Pro League.
