Accra Lions CEO Nana Obiri Yeboah has condemned the recent hooliganism in the Ghana Premier League following the tragic death of Asante Kotoko supporter Francis Frimpong, known as "Pooley."
The incident occurred after Kotoko’s match against Nsoatreman, prompting the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to suspend the league.
Kotoko has since withdrawn from the competition, demanding justice. Yeboah warned that such violence could discourage fans from attending games and harm the league’s reputation.
Meanwhile, legal proceedings continue, with travel restrictions placed on Nsoatreman President Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, a suspect in the case.
Two suspects have been granted bail, while a third remains in custody. The GFA is set to meet with the police and club representatives to discuss measures to prevent future incidents.
