Accra Sports Stadium Unavailable: Hearts of Oak vs. Nations FC Match Relocated – NSA Confirms

The National Sports Authority (NSA) announced that Accra Hearts of Oak S.C. cannot use the Accra Sports Stadium. This affects their upcoming match against Nations FC, set for Thursday, April 3, 2025.

As a result, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has rescheduled the Matchweek 21 fixture. The match will now take place at Tuba Astro Turf on the same date.

On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, the NSA issued a press release. They stated they could not reach an agreement with Hearts of Oak due to scheduling conflicts.

The mid-week fixture schedule clashed with other events at the stadium. This made it “practically impossible” to host the game there. Despite negotiations with the GFA, prior commitments were cited as the main reason for denying access.

The NSA noted that several major stakeholders have already used the stadium this season. These include Hearts of Oak and Nations FC for league matches.

However, fans can expect that the venue will be available for weekend fixtures. This includes an upcoming match between Accra Hearts of Oak S.C. and Karela FC.

Additionally, a structural audit of the Accra Sports Stadium is nearing completion. This audit addresses ongoing concerns about its condition and will guide future decisions on hosting football activities.

The NSA emphasized its commitment to supporting Ghanaian football fairly for all stakeholders. For Hearts of Oak, relocating to Tuba Astro Turf is crucial at this point in their season.

Currently in 4th place with 37 points, they aim to end a three-game winless streak. They hope this venue change does not disrupt their preparations against competitive Nations FC.
