Mr. Samson Deen, President of the African Paralympic Committee (AfPC), visited His Excellency Ifedayo Adeoye. The meeting took place at the Nigerian High Commission in Accra, Ghana.
They discussed advancing para sports across Africa. Key topics included the inaugural West African Para Games in Nigeria. They also talked about the AfPC General Assembly and the Open Championship. All these events are scheduled for November 2025 in Accra.
During the meeting, Mr. Deen asked for help from the High Commissioner. He wanted to arrange a follow-up meeting with Senator Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, First Lady of Nigeria. The goal was to update her on AfPC programs and seek her support.
In 2023, Mrs. Tinubu became Grand Patron of the African Paralympic Games and Para Sports. She is responsible for encouraging other African First Ladies to promote disability sports.
High Commissioner Adeoye welcomed the AfPC delegation warmly. He expressed his support for the Paralympic Movement’s philosophy. He praised Mr. Deen’s commitment to inclusivity in Africa.
He assured that Mrs. Tinubu would be open to receiving the delegation. The AfPC delegation included Ignatius Elletey, Foster Kwarteng, and Michael Obeng.
