Excitement is growing for the CAF African Schools Football Championship in Ghana. CAF has confirmed that legends Asamoah Gyan and Clementine Toure will assist with the Official Draw. This event will take place on Monday, April 21, in Accra.
The championship will occur from April 23 to 26, 2025. Gyan from Ghana and Toure from Cote d'Ivoire will help with the draw. This is the third edition of Africa's largest school football competition.
Other notable figures at the draw include Abedi Pele and Adjoa Bayor from Ghana. Robert Kidiaba from DR Congo and Amanda Dlamini from South Africa will also attend. They will support participating teams throughout the competition.
The finals feature eight nations competing in both Boys' and Girls' Under-15 categories. The tournament marks the end of a successful season for youth football in Africa. Various CAF Capacity Building Programs will run alongside the competition to develop future talent.
South Africa currently holds the Girls U-15 title after winning against Morocco last year in Tanzania. Tanzania holds the Boys U-15 title after defeating Guinea at home last year.
Winners of both competitions will receive USD 300,000 each. Runners-up will get USD 200,000, while bronze medalists will receive USD 150,000 for school development projects. The Motsepe Foundation donated USD 10 million when launching this championship in 2022.
