Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has praised Ghana captain Jordan Ayew for his leadership in securing back-to-back victories in the March World Cup qualifiers.
Ayew played a crucial role in Ghana's resurgence, helping the Black Stars climb to the top of Group I after a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations campaign. The Leicester City forward scored a goal and provided four assists in dominant wins over Chad (5-0) and Madagascar (3-0).
Speaking on TV3, Agyemang Badu highlighted Ayew’s strong mentality and influence on the team.
“He is very calm but has a strong mentality. When you play with him, you will know the kind of player he is. Now that the captaincy issue has been settled and we have legends like Stephen Appiah and Asamoah Gyan around, we are going to America—the job is done,” he said.
The Black Stars will return to action in September to face Comoros and Chad in their next World Cup qualifying matches.
