Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah is confident about becoming the league's top scorer. He performed excellently against Medeama SC on Sunday, June 1, 2025. The match took place at Baba Yara Stadium.
Amoah scored a hat-trick, leading Kotoko to a 3-1 victory. This performance reignited his bid for the Ghana Premier League Golden Boot.
He started with a penalty in the 23rd minute to equalize. In the 40th minute, he scored with a powerful header to take the lead. His third goal came in the 79th minute, also with a header.
Amoah's total goals now stand at 12. He is three goals behind current top scorer Stephen Amankona of Berekum Chelsea.
After the match, Amoah expressed happiness about his performance. He reaffirmed his ambition to finish as the league’s top scorer.
"It is not too late; everything is possible," he said.
He added that they have one more away game and hope to secure all three points. "I scored a hat-trick at Accra Great Olympics and today too," he noted.
Kotoko will end their season with an away game against Vision FC. Amoah aims for enough goals to surpass Amankona and claim the top scorer title.
