Asante Kotoko has reached the final of the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup. They won 1-0 against Berekum Chelsea in a tense semifinal at TnA Stadium in Tarkwa on Saturday.
The first half ended without goals. Both teams had chances but could not score. After halftime, Kotoko increased their intensity. Albert Amoah scored the winning goal with a composed finish.
This victory is significant for head coach Abdul Karim Zito. It puts him on track for his first trophy with Kotoko. The team's disciplined play helped them hold off Berekum Chelsea's efforts to equalize.
Samuel Boadu, former Hearts of Oak boss, now leads Chelsea. He could not inspire a comeback, ending Chelsea's spirited FA Cup run in disappointment.
Kotoko will face lower-tier side Golden Kick in the final. They aim to finish their campaign with silverware and return to continental football.
